I wanted to get them all in that hanadeka pose, but Godzilla has her own hairy head - she's far too heavy to keep her in just one hand all the time, too, that little fatty - and Putzi is just a hopeless case. XD
(f.l.t.r. - Miyabi, Godzilla, Yûko, Putzi)
Putzi was the first one of these I got. He's more than 12 years old now, my 2nd budgy, I got him when I was 9 years old - chose him all myself, paying with my pocket money, imagine my pride. XD He's super-shy and easily confused, like an old prof. He and Godzilla (the big fluffy black spot with the eye) live with my Mum. Putzi's too old for a move and I don't want to separate them. Godzilla's about 3 now, she's huge and loves to throw (honestly) her house through the whole cage, making it stand on the sides and so on, when she's angry. Apart from that, she's the coolest and most relaxed of all of them. XD Yûko ("the gentle", black and white) became my little baby when I started my studies one year ago. I got her to cure my loneliness. She's very ladylike, though having absolute principles. She's quite tame, trained to do fun stuff like crawling in my sweater pocket, and I love her little warm tongue licking my fingers. ^^ The last one, Miyabi (little brown one) joined the pack just this April. She was still tiny and basically the last little Lady piggy I could find in the WHOLE town, which is not that small. Hurrying home, she started kicking the walls of her box so that everybody in the tram stared at me - I was so nervous I took the wrong line and had to walk 30 extra minutes. XD Home, she didn't show the slightest sign of fear. Usually, it takes at least two days until a piggy settles, but not her. She was supposed to be called Muffin first, but never reacted - I was confused! Then I tried all variations, until suddenly, she started jumping and squeaking at "Miyabi" (I've got problems pronouncing v, so I stuck to the old name with a b, at least it means "elegance"). I tried "Muffin" again, but nothing. She really reacts to Miyabi, and she's as crazy as the guy she got named after. @.@
still trying to get awake and come over that headache before work. But that's too cute. I love your little fellas ^__^ and am happy I could help a bit on the 10K
Unusual? Huh... well, for people of my age maybe, though I think it's becoming usual again nowadays. I know many people who still have rabbits and guinea pigs though they're out of their teens - compared to cats, they're cheaper, easier to care for and cost less. Especially guinea pigs have a very friendly, open character, they're easy to tame. One has to be very careful, though. When I started my studies, I decided I needed pets because I hate sharing my flat but can't stay alone. Godzilla and Putzi stayed with my Mum, the bird is already 12, a 4 hour train ride would have been too much stress for him, and they can't stay alone (didn't want to leave my Mum alone, either). A cat was out of question for the reasons above, which left me with rodents or reptiles (I love them all, frogs, turtles, lizards, snakes... and I ADORE tarantulas *___*). I don't have enough experience with reptiles, so I just got a guinea pig - Yûko - and when she was somehow tamed and showed signs of loneliness, crazy little Miyabi joined. She got the name according to her character. ^^" Maybe I should put that story in the description above...
I think you made a good choice. I refuse to be alone as well, and have nearly always had a pet. It feels...weird without one.
Lizards as pets are not my thing though. And spiders....*shudders* Ugh. Can't do it. I don't mind birds, but I have a cat and it might cause conflict...
I knew a guy once that had a room in his basement devoted to his lizards. He opened the door once, and a huge iguana came slithering out into the hall. It came right up to me and started crawling up my pants. I was disturbed. O.O I like lizards fine in the wild, where they stay away from me.
Oooh, I love lizards... their skin is so warm! It's like touching somebody very old's hand. And snakes are just marvelous to touch, all smooth and warm. ^^
I was in a pet shop once, staring at some tiny lizards only a few days old. Suddenly the owner stepped next to me, another one of those in his hand, forcing its mouth open and dripped about three little drops of water into it with the help of some tweezers. It was the weakest of the breed, but he didn't let it die, he fed it like every hour or so. I was so touched, all that care for such a fragile little creature. I hope he made it!

Congratulations on 10,000 pageviews!
I always wanted a guinea pig or a hamster, but they are so....small. I was afraid it would get out and be squashed by someone. >.<
I like your pets! They are cute! Miyabi is my favorite though...all....cute there...

I don't know why, but lizards bug me. Those flickering tongues I guess. Or scales. I like them, but just not as a pet for me. ^^
